Domestic and international arbitration
Introduction
Representing parties in arbitrations seated in the Kingdom and abroad, and in the court proceedings that support, challenge or enforce an award.
Arbitration lets parties choose their tribunal, language and procedure, and keep the dispute confidential. The Saudi Arbitration Law follows the UNCITRAL Model Law, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration administers cases under modern rules, and the Kingdom is a party to the New York Convention, so awards made here can be enforced in more than 170 countries.
We act in domestic and international arbitrations under the rules of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, the ICC and other institutions, and in ad hoc proceedings. Our work starts with the arbitration clause itself: the seat, the rules, the number of arbitrators and, for government parties, the approval the Arbitration Law requires before they can agree to arbitrate.
Before the Saudi courts we handle applications for interim measures, actions to set aside awards on the limited grounds the law allows, and the enforcement of domestic and foreign awards through the enforcement courts.
