Personal data protection and cybersecurity compliance
Introduction
Making data protection and cybersecurity part of the company's compliance framework, with clear ownership, controls and reporting.
Data protection and cybersecurity are now regulatory obligations with real penalties. The Personal Data Protection Law, supervised by SDAIA, governs how personal data is collected, used, shared and transferred, while the National Cybersecurity Authority and sector regulators such as the Saudi Central Bank set security requirements.
From a compliance point of view, the questions are who owns these risks, how they are monitored and what the board sees. We set up the governance, help appoint and support data protection officers where required, and build the policies, registers and reporting that tie data and security into the wider compliance programme.
When regulators inquire or an incident occurs, we manage the response: notifications, correspondence with the regulator, remediation and, where needed, objections to penalties.
