Anti-money laundering and anti-bribery programmes
Introduction
Programmes that prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, bribery and corruption, and show regulators that they work.
The Anti-Money Laundering Law applies to financial institutions and to designated businesses and professions, including real estate agents, dealers in precious metals and stones, and lawyers and accountants for certain transactions. They must know their customers, assess risk, keep records and report suspicious transactions to the General Directorate of Financial Investigation.
Bribery rules reach every company. The Anti-Bribery Law covers the private sector as well as public officials, and companies can be fined for bribes paid for their benefit. The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) investigates corruption and expects companies to have real controls in place.
We build programmes sized to the business: a risk assessment, policies on customers, gifts, hospitality and third parties, screening and reporting procedures, training and periodic testing. Where something goes wrong, we lead the response.
