Sponsorship, broadcasting and event contracts

Introduction

Contracts for the Kingdom's growing sports, entertainment and events sector: sponsorship, media rights, venues and the events themselves.

The Kingdom now hosts international tournaments, concerts, exhibitions and festivals throughout the year, and will host Expo 2030 in Riyadh and the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Each event rests on a chain of contracts between rights holders, organisers, venues, sponsors, broadcasters and suppliers.

We draft and negotiate sponsorship agreements with clear deliverables and exclusivity, media and broadcasting rights agreements, venue and event services contracts, and talent and appearance agreements, and we advise on the licences required from the General Entertainment Authority, the Ministry of Sport and the media regulator.

Events carry particular risks: cancellation and postponement, ambush marketing, image rights, liability to the public and payments across many parties. We allocate these risks in the contracts before the event, and resolve the disputes that follow when they arise.
