Cybercrime and technology disputes

Introduction

Acting when technology fails or is misused: cybercrime complaints and defence, and disputes over systems, software and data.

The Anti-Cyber Crime Law criminalises unauthorised access to systems, interference with data, and fraud and defamation by technical means, among other offences. Companies are often the victims, through hacking, data theft or fraud by insiders, and sometimes face allegations themselves.

Evidence decides these cases. Since the Law of Evidence recognised digital evidence, logs, emails and system records can carry real weight, provided they are preserved and collected properly. We work with forensic experts from the first hours of an incident.

Technology disputes also arise between businesses: failed implementations, missed service levels, ownership of code and data, and liability for automated decisions. We resolve them amicably where possible, and through litigation or arbitration where not.
